Fees

  • Standard Psychological Consultation (50 minutes)
    • Dr Rachael Macdonald - $266*
    • Kate Ward - $200
    • Gillian Ash - $175
  • NDIS Psychological Therapy Consultation
    • Standard NDIS rates apply (currently $232.99 per hour)
  • Neurotherapy treatment - From $55 per 30 minute session.
  • Psychological Assessment - Cost for assessment will vary with the length of time and complexity of assessment required. Please contact the clinic for a quote.
  • Brain Mapping - Costs vary between basic and complex Brain Mapping. Please contact the clinic for a quote.
  • Medicare rebates apply where applicable. Unfortunately, we do not provide Bulk Billing services.
  • Cancellation Fees for Late Cancellation and Fail to Attend an appointment may apply.

Rebates

Medicare:

  • The following Medicare rebates are available with a referral from Paediatrician, Psychiatrist or General Practitioner (GP) with a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP):
    • Clinical Psychologist $145.25 per session
    • General Psychologist $98.95 per session
  • Up to 10 sessions are available per calendar year with a MHCP.
  • For more information, refer to the Better Access to Psychiatrists, Psychologists and General Practitioners through the Medicare Benefits Schedule (Better Access) initiative.
  • If Medicare rebates are not required, then a Doctor's referral is not required but is recommended.
  • Medicare rebates are generally not available for assessment services or neuroscience services. However, Medicare does provide rebates for some specific assessment services. e.g., Autism assessment by a qualified psychologist with a specialist (Paediatrician or Psychiatrist) referral for under 25 year olds.

Private Health Insurance:
  • Rebates from various Private Health Insurers. (Please contact your private health insurer to find out what rebates may apply).
  • Medicare Rebates and Private Health Insurance rebates can be processed at Unique Brains through HICAPS at the time of the appointment.

Transport Accident Commission (TAC):
  • TAC generally covers the cost of reasonable and necessary treatment, with no out of pocket expenses for clients.

Workcover:
  • Workcover generally covers the cost of reasonable and necessary treatment, with no out of pocket expenses for clients.
